St John's Preschool has been part of the Ashfield Community for more than 70 years.  The local community is important to us and parent participation is valued highly in our preschool.
The Approved Provider of the preschool is the St John's Preschool Management Committee, which is made up of 4 elected parent representatives, and 5 representatives from St John's Church, Ashfield.

This year, parent representatives Jess, Katrina, Shonagh and Susie have been warmly welcomed into the role.

All parents with children in the preschool are eligible for membership of the Association, and can stand for election as one of the parent representatives. Parents are encouraged to attend the annual general meeting held at the end of Term 1 each year.
Although the Management Committee oversee the operation of the preschool, the day to day running of the preschool is the responsibility of the Director and the staff.
St John’s Preschool Ashfield is a Community based, Christian early learning environment which exists in a diverse community.

We aim to give our children a clear and respectful understanding of all cultures including that of our Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. Our Preschool is located on land whose traditional owners were the Cadigal and Wangal people, and we acknowledge and give respect to these original custodians.

The Preschool is run under the auspices of the St John’s Anglican Church who had the foresight to establish an early learning environment for children over 70 years ago and who continue through their role on the Management Committee to provide excellent support and direction.

Our Preschool philosophy can be found in the resources section of this website.
